And people still say there is no such thing as luck. Ok, so maybe they are right. Maybe it's just sheer coincidence and we should just leave it at that. But in my book, that's one lucky coincidence!!! Article after the jump.

Time Flies...

Most of us have heard the expression "Time flies when you're having fun". As a kid growing up, this was particularly true. Whenever I was doing something cool, amusing or otherwise just plain awesome and fun, no sooner would I have started and it would already be over or time to leave. The flight of time... That horrible foe. The natural nemesis of all kids growing up to the sounds of fun and joy.
However, looking back at infant and teen years, I also remember that although the fun times did fly by, the years seemed to crawl. I remember craving to be thirteen and it seemed like forever before I actually was. Desiring to hit sixteen and thinking it took eternity to reach. Wanting to turn eighteen so bad I could die just from the wait... And what a wait it was indeed. Yes. Time seemed to fly at times, but mostly it crawled along pretty damn slow. Then when I hit eighteen something interesting happened. Time didn't seem to be so slow anymore. In fact, everything seemed to be getting faster. Fun times were over sooner, and the years seemed to go by faster. Most people would say maybe I am just not living an interesting enough life. But honestly I don't think that's it.
Now thirty six years old, eighteen more years have passed since my coming of age. In the time that has transpired, I finished school, college, got my driver's license (and thought that with it I had gained ultimate freedom, hehe). I met my future wife, dated my future wife, fell in love with her... I married her and we have a full life and house and an adorable kid. In these past eighteen years, I had adventures, went on trips, made some mistakes, took some risks, reaped ingredients rewards. Made a few friends, lost a few more along the way and learnt which of these are real and which are just there for you when it suites their needs. All in all, a pretty decent time. But the years, they just zipped by. In a flash, they were gone. Over. Never to return. And non more so than the last few years. They have gone by like a blur. Unstoppable! Time flies, yeah, for sure. It's just that now it doesn't only seem to fly when I'm having fun. It seems to fly by all the time. It's fleeting! Every second is brutally lapped by the next, each minute seems to just disappear into the background. The hours go running past me. Weeks and months?! Don't you mean seconds?! And the years? What the hell happened to them? It was 2009 just a few days ago, so how can it possibly already be mid 2012?! It can't be! Can it?

The truth is it can and is. Time now just flies by. Every second, all the time. It's here and now it's gone and I didn't even realize it. And it scares the hell out of me. It scares me to think that the rest of my life might go by as fast or even faster. It scares me to think that soon might actually be sooner than I expected. That things I'm just not ready for might be over before I even realize they even started.

"Time flies". Yes it does, indeed. But what bothers me the most isn't the fact that life seems to be flying by. It's that I seem to have fallen asleep and have missed the in-flight movie.

Life, love and happiness...

Sitting by the fireplace, eating sweet popcorn with my sweetheart; a cool refreshing drink and a great movie. What a great way to spend time :)

Enter the era of a Firefox based client...

Just started fooling around with ScribeFire. It's a Blog client and in this case, a Firefox addon too. So far it looks rather promising. Clean and simple, with a great UI and packed with some rather interesting features. I give it a "thumbs up".
